Frequently Asked Questions
Can I listen to Brilliance Audiobooks on the United States Library of Congress tapeplayers (tapeplayers for the blind)?
While Bookcassette® Brand audiobooks are NOT compatible with the Library of Congress tapeplayers, all other brands of audiobooks on cassette published by Brilliance Audio can be played on any tapeplayer, including US Library of Congress tapeplayers.
Is special equipment needed to listen to Brilliance Audio product?
Special equipment is not necessary for any Brilliance audiobooks produced after June 2000. All current audiobook imprints produced by Brilliance Audio play on standard players, the same as for music media.
We do, however, still carry unabridged backlist titles that were produced with the revolutionary Multitrack Recording Method prior to June 2000 that do require a cassette player with a stereo balance control, or a Bookcassette adapter for hand-held players. These backlist imprints will be designated as "Bookcassette" brand.
What benefits are there in ordering directly from Brilliance when I already have accounts set up with distributors?
Although we encourage you to purchase RUSH orders and NEXT DAY AIR needs through your distributor, ordering directly from us will offer you greater discounts on Retail imprints with only a 2-piece minimum order.
You can choose to have your order shipped as titles become available, or shipped complete when all pieces are in stock. You may also choose to have your orders entered so that you would only receive one shipment per month (to save on your freight costs); Just let your Sales Representative know what you prefer.
I don't have time to go through all of the new titles every month. How can you make this easier, and is there a way to receive them automatically?
Our catalogs are mailed 4 times per year. They are all inclusive (contain both frontlist and backlist) with a "Looking Forward" section several months into the future. Although length and prices are subject to change as we near publication date, this is a good opportunity to review several months at a time.
Should you choose to have orders written for you on a regular basis, you just need to let your Sales Representative know your criteria (how many of which imprints, minus what genre, etc.) and your pre-written orders will be submitted automatically. You may ask to have them 'approved' by you prior to entry as well.
I'm just a small store with small orders. How can I get a better discount to help me stay competitive?
Brilliance Audio will allow an extra 5% discount to Retail stores who agree to buy their product on a non-returnable basis. By agreeing to "sell through" instead of sending product back to us for credit, this extra discount is awarded for all Retail imprints at the time of purchase.
How long will it take to receive my order?
After receiving your order, we anticipate that in-stock items should ship within 72 hours via UPS ground.
As a wholesaler, I have special needs and requirements. Shipments must be received in my warehouses early in order to be distributed to the stores in a timely manner. Can you ensure my special needs are met?
Brilliance Audio recognizes that 'timing' is an issue when warehouses are involved. We make every attempt to ship your orders to arrive two weeks prior to the publication date so product can be turned around in time for the on-sale date. We will also work with you on your assortment and case-pack needs.
If I feel uncomfortable ordering through the web site, is there a number I can call to order?
You may call 800-648-2312 to order by phone, or to ask questions you may have concerning our products. You may also fax your orders to 616-846-0630.
If I use my credit card to order, how can I be sure the transaction is safe and my credit card number won't be stolen?
All billing, shipping, and credit card information is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (ssl) technology. For a more complete explanation, read the section entitled Security in our privacy statement.
I'm new to the audiobook industry. Are there any statistics I can pass on to my potential customers?
